Do I need an ’european impressum’?

Jan 06, 2017
Applies to traders of the United Kingdom:

Every commercial provider in the European Union needs an ’impressum’ on the Internet! But the UK Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002 E-Commerce Regulations, Companies (Trading Disclosures) Regulations 2008 is not valid in USA, because we does not own european domains, is based in USA, operates its servers outside the EU and makes its web content available exclusively to the European minority in USA.

In USA, you only need a private policy (data protection declaration) and terms of use (GTC) to display your profile or a personal homepage on the Internet. Both are already included in the footer and you don’t need to worry about anything else.

This applies to traders in English-speaking countries (except UK):

You only need a private policy and terms of use. Both are already included in the footer and you don’t need to worry about anything else.
